Lawyer Carlotta Rossato
Graduating cum laude from the University of Milan, she has developed a strong specialization in international law and strategic litigation for the protection of fundamental rights. She completed two internships with foreign non-governmental organizations based in Berlin and Geneva, focusing on the fight against impunity for international crimes through investigations, litigation, and legal support for victims.
She undertook her legal traineeship at the Public Prosecutor's Office in Bologna, working alongside a judge assigned, among other areas, to the specialized unit for the protection of vulnerable individuals. She then completed her legal practice at a Bologna-based law firm specializing in criminal law and immigration law.
After passing the Italian Bar Examination, she completed the international PhD programme in Human Rights, Society and Multi-level Governance at the A. Papisca Human Rights Centre of the University of Padua. Her doctoral thesis, in international criminal law, examines victims' access to justice in universal jurisdiction proceedings.
She has been admitted to the Venice Bar Association since 2026.
